National Health Insurance

As of July 17,1999, a new Act with regards to the National Health Insurance Program (NHI) was passed into law. Under this law, all persons residing in the ROC, and holding an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) for more than four months, are required to join the NHI Program immediately. These persons will contribute regular monthly premiums, and will then become eligible for all of the benefits covered by the NHI program.
